Library offering internet, email classes

The White Salmon Valley Community Library will be offering free basic computer classes to the Public on the third Monday of July and August.

Class topics will be: "Free E-mail;" "Intro to the Internet;" and "PC Basics." Two sessions will be offered each day.

The first session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The second session will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Space is limited. Registration is required.

Classes are scheduled as follows: July 16, Session 1 - Free E-mail, and Session 2 -- Intro to the Internet; August 20, Session 1 -- PC Basics, and Session 2 -- Free E-mail.

The "Free E-mail" class will cover how to sign up for a free, web-based e-mail account and how to use your e-mail account.

The "PC Basics" class will help you get comfortable with a computer, learn how to use a mouse, identify the parts of the computer, experiment with Microsoft Windows, create and save documents. This class is for patrons with NO computer experience.

The "Intro to the Internet" class will help you find your way around the World Wide Web, learn to use search engines and web addresses, and become familiar with standard website layouts to simplify finding information or conducting business.

The "Free E-mail" and "PC Basics" classes are intended for those who are familiar with using the mouse. Anyone needing to improve mouse skills is invited to come to the library during regular library hours and access our free online "Mouse Tutorial."
