Rezoning Plans Top County's July 16-17 Agendas

Seven different proposals on docket

The July 16 and July 17 agendas for the Klickitat County Planning Commission agenda are crowded with proposed zoning changes, with public hearings on the following topping the list:

July 16

:

Applicants Timothy and Marla Ratley propose to rezone 21 acres from Forest Resource (FR-20) to Rural (RRL-10). The property is located within a portion of Section 27, T4N, R11E, W.M., Klickitat County (Snowden Crusher Plant Road, Snowden vicinity).

Applicant Rick Graves proposes to subdivide -- for a phased development -- 16.78 acres into 17 lots (Phase 1 being 6-7 lots). The proposed subdivision is located within a portion of Section 23, T3N, R10E, W.M., Klickitat County (off Sterling Court and Sterling Blvd, White Salmon vicinity).

Applicant Ted Dodd proposes to rezone 37.48 acres from General Rural (GR5) to General Rural with Cluster Development. The property is located within a portion of Section 25, T4N, R12E, W.M., Klickitat County (Klickitat/Appleton Road, Lyle vicinity).

Applicant Roseland Property Group, LLC, is requesting an amendment to the county's Comprehensive Plan (Dallesport Sub-Area Plan); zoning text and zoning map (rezone). The amendments would provide for master plan review under the Tourist Commercial zone, at the below described location, and rezone approximately 7.5 acres of privately owned land from Industrial to Tourist Commercial; and adjust the existing boundary lines between Tourist Commercial and Open Space to reflect the adjusted golf course plan and proposed habitat protection areas. In addition, approximately 42 acres of land owned by city of The Dalles would be rezoned from Open Space to Tourist Commercial.

The site consists of 540 acres located west of Highway 197, north of Dallesport Road, and south of Tidyman Road, in Klickitat County, Washington. The proposal is located in portions of Sections 26, 27, 34, 35 in T2N, R13E, W.M., Klickitat County (Dallesport).

July 17:

Applicant Lon Ball proposes to rezone 130.24 acres from Extensive Agriculture (EA-20) to Extensive Agriculture with Cluster Overlay. The property is located within a portion of Section 24, T6N, R10E, W.M., Klickitat County (between Little Mountain Rd and Sunnyside Rd, Trout Lake vicinity).

Applicant Lon Ball also requests to rezone 79.48 acres from Extensive Agriculture (EA-20) to Extensive Agriculture with Cluster Overlay. The property is located within a portion of Section 29, T6N, R11E, W.M., Klickitat County (Sunnyside Road, Trout Lake vicinity).

Applicant William Maley proposes to rezone 10.74 acres from Suburban Residential (SR) to Residential (R) and Comprehensive Plan Amendment from Residential-Medium Density to Residential-High Density. The property is located within a portion of Section 33, T2N, R 13E, W.M., Klickitat County (Lot 4, SP-91-19 and Lots 1, 2, 20, 21, 25-32 and 37-40, Block C of the Plat of Dallesport).

Both meetings get started at 7 p.m. in the Klickitat County Board of Commissioners meeting room of the County Courthouse, 205 S. Columbus Ave., in Goldendale.
