One June 18, Trooper Mike Wells with the Washington State Patrol Goldendale Detachment, conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle in Klickitat County on State Route 97 near Satus Pass. The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Kansas resident could not produce any identification or driver's license. The subject was evidentially arrested for driving without a valid operator's license.

During the search of the vehicle incident to arrest, Trooper Wells found seven boxes with over 300-copied DVDs that were burned off a computer, packaged and ready for sale. The DVDs were obviously fake, as the printing was blurred and the packaging was loose fitting. The value of the DVDs was over $6000.

The subject was booked at the Klickitat County Jail.

Investigation of the case continues.

A Ridgefield woman suffered minor injures in a two-vehicle accident on SR 14, just east of Bingen, on June 12, 2007, at approximately 3:40 p.m.

According to the report, an unoccupied 1996 Ford pickup was parked in the Washington Gorge Action Program parking lot. A 1997 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Patricia A. Schurman, 52, Ridgefield, was westbound on SR 14. The unoccupied vehicle rolled backwards from its parking space, while unoccupied, and down a mild grade. The unoccupied vehicle then rolled from the parking lot onto SR 14 and impacted with Schurman's vehilce in the westbound lane. The two vehicles came to rest on the south side of the highway.

Schurman suffered minor injuries to her forearms from her vehicle's airbag. She was transported to Skyline Hospital.



A traffic stop Thursday evening by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper west of Hood River on Interstate 84 led to the seizure of approximately one-pound of crystal methamphetamine and $17,000 cash, along with the arrest of two Portland residents.

On June 14, 2007, at approximately 6:50 p.m. an OSP trooper from The Dalles Area Command office stopped a rented 2007 Toyota Solaro eastbound I-84 near milepost 54 for speed and lane violations. During the contact the occupants were identified as driver Sandra Barahona, 33, and passenger Arturo Robles Reyes, 21, both from northeast Portland.

During the stop a search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of approximately one pound of crystal methamphetamine and $17,000 cash. The drugs and money were found concealed inside the passenger compartment of the car.

Barahona and Robles Reyes were taken into custody and lodged at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) in The Dalles pending arraignment in Hood River Circuit Court on the following charges: possession and delivery of a controlled substance -- methamphetamine; conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance -- methamphetamine; and money laundering.

The investigation is being continued by OSP detectives assigned to the Methamphetamine Initiative Team, with the assistance of F.I.S.T. (Financial Investigation Strike Team) comprised of personnel from OSP, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, DEA, and IRS.

Estimated value of the seized crystal methamphetamine is $10,000.
