Seminar looks at fire protection

Event hosted by DNR at White Salmon Fire Hall

On Thursday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m. the Jewett Streamkeepers is sponsoring a Firewise presentation by Dan Lennon, from the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR), at White Salmon Fire Hall.

Lennon will focus on ways you can protect your home from wildland fires.

This is especially important for folks with properties where fire trucks would have difficulty accessing their property, said White Salmon Fire Chief Bill Hunsaker.

In addition, Bill Weiler, habitat biologist from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, will discuss how to manage your property in a wildlife friendly manner while still affording protection for your property.

The seminar is sponsored by the Jewett Creek Streamkeepers, Underwood Conservation District, and the City of White Salmon.
