Early history of the Lyle area (author unknown): "Immediately below the mouth of the Klickitat River (named by the expedition "Catarac River") was the third Indian village. The Indians told Lewis and Clark that the salmon could not get up the Catarac River because of falls. At this village they purchased four dogs. "
"A few miles west of the mouth of the Klickitat River they passed three islands and on the middle island which was the largest they saw a lot of Indian graves. L & C called it Sepulcar Island and we know it now as Memaloose. The robe of these Indians was made from wolf hide, deer, elk, wild cat and one of mountain sheep."
"On this large Island called Memaloose is the vault for the burial of one white man, Victor Trevitt. Trevitt often said he wanted to be buried on the island among the people who always kept their word."
Why Why Why
Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they already know there is not enough money?
