Next meeting on Husum rezoning comes May 21

Hearing starts at 7 p.m.

The Klickitat County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on May 21 to take testimony from all those who wish to testify for or against two large-scale rezoning proposals in the Husum area.

The proposals include SDS Lumber Co.'s proposed rezoning of approximately 100 acres from resource lands to rural residential; and a comprehensive plan amendment to change the designation from resource lands to residential for an additional approximately 100 acres.

The location of the properties in the two proposals is described as "off SR 141 in the Husum vicinity."

The Planning Commission will also discuss the proposed "Husum/BZ Corner sub-area plan and zoning update" during the meeting.

The hearing will start on Monday, May 21, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners' meeting room in the County Courthouse, 205 S. Columbus in Goldendale.
