Children can have fun and earn prizes while keeping their reading skills sharp with free summer reading programs at the White Salmon Valley Community Library.
The library's summer reading program, themed "Get a Clue at Your Library," runs June 1 through Aug. 31.
Children up to age 12 years old can sign-up and receive a summer reading packet that includes a reading log, activity booklet, bookmark, events schedule, and stickers.
For every five hours of reading logged, participants can visit the library to receive a certificate of achievement and a prize.
Completion of each additional five hours of reading earns another prize (while supplies last).
In addition to earning exciting prizes, don't forget to attend the special programs for the whole family, beginning June 15. All of the programs are in the library's Sprint/Baker Gallery, with the exception of Victor Johnson's concert at the Bingen City Park.
