Many thanks go to the Trout Lake School Jazz Band, with the White Salmon Jazz Band for a fantastic, Fall Fling. An excellent candlelit dinner was followed by wonderful music for a most enjoyable evening, can't wait for their next event. Money raised from this Fling will help pay for the TL Jazz Band's trip to the San Francisco Bay Area to participate in music competitions there. This will be a marvelous experience for these talented musicians.
The Super Supper Club will have its second dinner at the grange on Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. This dinner will include a special Holiday "Carol Sing." You are invited to host a table, or join a waiting list for your place at an open table. Couples hosting a table invite six other guests to dine at your table, provide the entree, with the guests providing the side dishes and dessert. This is the club's monthly fundraiser on behalf of the Grange, so there is a $5 per person donation for the Grange. Look for additional details on flyers posted around the community, or call Judy Barnes at 395-3613 or Cheryl Hysmith at 395-2207 for information.
There is a new play in the works, a comedy "The Boardinghouse," which will be presented as a staged reading at the Country Inn on Dec. 14 and 15. Six brave members of the community have agreed to act in the comedy roles, providing many laughs for the audience and the actors. See you there!
Community Council Planning Committee has presented the first draft of the updated comprehensive sub-area plan. The first public meeting was on Nov. 14 and provided details and maps of the draft plan. There will be a second meeting on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m., which will address questions raised at the first meeting. Meetings are held at the Trout Lake School Community Learning Center. The draft plan document is available on the Trout Lake website for review. This is a draft plan, not a finished product. The committee seeks community assistance in bringing the draft to a final plan.
