WASHINGTON

STATE PATROL

A Hood River woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 14 at milepost 108, 20 miles east of Goldendale. The accident occurred on Nov. 18, 2007, at approximately 9:41 a.m.

According to the report, Maria L. Aguilar, 43, Hood River, was driving her 2003 Ford Focus westbound on SR 14. The vehicle crossed the centerline, exited the roadway to the left and rolled into an embankment. The vehicle came to rest on its top facing eastbound.

Aguilgar suffered back injuries and was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale.

Jo Ruiz Aguilar, 20, Hood River, a passenger in the vehicle, was not injured.

Aguilar was cited for speeding.

OREGON

STATE PATROL

Two men, one from Montana and the other from Wyoming, were arrested by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper Sunday night on marijuana-related charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 84 about 10 miles west of Hood River.

On Nov. 18, 2007 at approximately 5:35 p.m. an OSP trooper from The Dalles Area Command stopped a 2007 Chevrolet pickup on Interstate 84 near milepost 53 for exceeding the speed limit. The occupants were identified as driver Ricky K. Pool, 32, from Baker, Mont., and passenger David Pope, 39, from Casper, Wyo.

During the contact the trooper conducted a search and found approximately 2.6 pounds of packaged marijuana hidden inside the pickup worth an estimated $13,000.

Pool and Pope were both arrested and lodged in the Northern Oregon Regional Correction Facility (NORCOR) in The Dalles.
