Report from Washington State Patrol



Four people were injured in a White Salmon area wreck on Oct. 3, 2007, at approximately 7:47 p.m. The accident occurred on State Route 141 at milepost 4.1, two miles north of White Salmon.

According to the report, Kody A. Brandt, 19, Bingen, was driving his 2001 Chrysler Sebring southbound on SR 141. A 1991 Toyota pickup driven by Brandon A. Rude, 25, White Salmon, was traveling northbound on SR 141. Brandt's vehicle crossed over the double yellow centerline, striking Rude's vehicle head on. Both northbound and southbound lanes were blocked for approximately 30 minutes.

Brandt suffered scrapes and cuts in the accident and Rude had chest injuries. He was transported by family to Skyline Hospital.

Three passengers in Brandt's vehicle -- Jennifer Kennedy, Anthony Hayes and Kady McCoy, 16, White Salmon -- were all transported by family to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon.

Brandt was charged with DUI and negligent driving.
