A traffic stop by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper east of The Dalles Friday afternoon led to the arrest of Eugene, Ore., and Kallispell, Mont., men on marijuana charges and the seizure of over $6,000 cash.

On Sept. 7, 2007, at approximately 5 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2000 Nissan Maxima with two occupants eastbound on I-84 near milepost 96 for going 80 mph in a 65 mph zone.

After releasing the vehicle, the trooper learned the driver, David Michael Ellig, 21, Eugene, was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Umatilla County for failure to appear in the second degree (original charges included DUII and unlawful possession of marijuana).

The trooper located the car two miles later, made a second stop and took Ellig into custody on the warrant. During this contact the trooper received consent to search the car and contents by Ellig and passenger, Chase P. Mullee, 22, from Kallispell. This search led to the discovery of approximately two pounds of marijuana and $6,375 cash.

Mullee was also taken into custody following the marijuana discovery.

Both were lodged in the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) in The Dalles for unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance -- marijuana. Ellig was also lodged and held on the Umatilla County warrant.

A Friday evening traffic stop during Oregon State Police (OSP) Labor Day Holiday weekend enhanced patrol efforts on Interstate 84 east of The Dalles led to the arrest of a Hood River man after cocaine and methamphetamine were found in his vehicle.

On Aug. 31, 2007, at approximately 8 p.m. an OSP senior trooper from The Dalles Area Command office stopped a 1992 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on I-84 near milepost 92 for a speeding violation.

Upon contacting the driver, Francisco Javier Agredano Oleda, 19, Hood River, the trooper subsequently obtained consent to search the vehicle. Concealed under the dash behind the glove box was a plastic wrapped package containing approximately six ounces of methamphetamine and one ounce of cocaine.

Agredano Ojeda was arrested for possession and delivery of methamphetamine (two counts) and possession and delivery of cocaine (two counts). He was lodged at the Northern Regional Correctional Facility in The Dalles.

In addition to the illegal drugs, the vehicle and approximately $1,500 cash was seized. Troopers believe the drugs were enroute to central Washington.
