Trout Lake opened the 2007 prep boys soccer season at home last weekend with a victory and a draw.
Mikael Dick scored two goals and Lindsey Scott netted one in the Mustangs' 3-2 victory over City Christian, Ore., last Friday.
Trout Lake's goals came in an 11-minute span of the first half.
Dick found the back of the next in the 17th minute for the game's first goal. Scott assisted on the goal.
Four minutes later, Scott got her goal off an assist by Anna Schmid. Dick made it 3-0 in the 28th minute. The assist went to Dannon Kavanagh.
In the second half, City Christian shored up its defense and took advantage of several Trout Lake defensive errors to score two goals.
Trout Lake 1, Corbett, Ore. 1:
Mikael Dick's goal in the 61st minute last Saturday tied the match and the Mustangs' defense held on to preserve the draw.
Dick's scoring shot sailed into the upper corner from about 20 yards out, Mustangs Coach Doug Dearden noted.
Then, with less than a minute remaining, Trout Lake had another scoring opportunity, "but a brilliant save by the Corbett goalie kept the score tied," Dearden said.
For the match, which was scoreless at halftime, Trout Lake outshot Corbett, 15-7.

Also at Trout Lake, Sunnyside Christian defeated Corbett, 11-1, on Friday and City Christian, 7-0, on Saturday.
Trout Lake will be in Sunnyside this weekend for non-league matches against Northwest Christian of Colbert and Evergreen Lutheran of Des Moines.
