Kindermusik offer unique learning for kids

Course fosters development of young children

"Kindermusik with Jennifer" announces the launch of its new semester classes of Kindermusik.

Kindermusik fosters the total development of young children through a combination of music and movement. Parents with newborns, toddlers, and 3 through 5-year-old children can participate in Kindermusik activities -- jingling bells, pounding drums, floating scarves, "hooting" owl sounds and little feet moving in time to music.

Instructor Jennifer Harty holds a bachelor's degree in music and has spent many years in the theatre business. She has been teaching Kindermusik in White Salmon since 2005.

Harty believes that Kindermusik provides a powerful experience for a child. "The many songs and activities in Kindermusik class enhance a child's total development by strengthening physical, emotional, social, and cognitive skills at a very early age," said Harty. "Teaching children through Kindermusik has allowed me to experience the joy of watching children learn and grow through music. Kindermusik creates a warm, creative learning environment for both parents and children."

The fall semester begins Sept. 2. Classes being offered this session are "Village," newborns to 1.5 years; "Our Time," 1.5 years to 3 years and "Imagine That!," 3 to 5 year olds.

This fall Kindermusik with Jennifer is offering classes for the first time in Hood River and will continue to offer classes in White Salmon.

Classes will be held on Tues, Wed, and Thursdays in both locations. All classes are 15-week sessions except for the Village class, which is eight weeks.

Classes meet at 393 Cherry St. in White Salmon, and 2020 Clearwater Dr. in Hood River.
