Report for Washington State Patrol



A Ridgefield man was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Dec. 12, 2008, at 3:51 p.m. The accident occurred on State Route 14 at milepost 112, 22 miles outside of Goldendale.

According to the report, Stephen L. Hansen, 58, Ridgefield was driving his 1989 Toyota pickup eastbound on SR 14. A deer jumped the bank. The driver crossed into oncoming lane and left the roadway to the north. The vehicle overturned.

Hansen was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles for lacerations to his head and a possible broken ankle.

He was charged with negligent driving.

Cory C. Blaisdell was injured in a one vehicle accident on Dec. 12, 2008. The accident occurred at approximately 5:38 p.m. on SR 14 at milepost 74, one mile west of Lyle.

According to the report, Blaisdell was driving his 2000 Toyota pickup westbound on SR 14. The vehicle was struck by numerous large rocks that fell from a cliff on the north side of the highway. A basketball sized rock came through the windshield, striking Blaisdell.

Blaisdell, who was wearing his seatbelt, was taken to Hood River Hospital for a possible broken right arm and broken shoulder.

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at occurred on Dec. 12, 2008, at 11:24 p.m. The accident occurred on SR 14 at milepost 93.5, 18 miles southwest of Goldendale.

According to the report, a 2008 Mazda driven by Alecia D. Thomsen, 22, Prosser, was traveling eastbound on SR 14, entering the Wishram curves. The vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped a semi traveling west on SR 14. The vehicle then crossed back into the eastbound lane and then went into and out of a ditch. The vehicle came to a stop facing northwest in the eastbound lane. The semi came to a stop in the westbound lane.

Thomsen, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a sore neck and back. She was transported by ambulance to Mid Columbia Medical Center.

Darren R. Wright, 49, Newport, driver of the 2005 international semi, was not injured.

Amanda K. Thomsen, 18, Prosser, a passenger in the Mazda, suffered lower back pain. Phil Y. Barr, 24, Prosser, another passenger in the Mazda, also suffered lower back pain. They were both wearing seat belts and taken to MCMC in The Dalles.

Alecia Thomsen was cited for negligent driving.
