Local wineries, artists, merchants, and the Columbia Gorge Hotel are joining forces with the White Salmon Valley Education Foundation (WSVEF) to benefit local school children.
Community members are invited to do the same by participating in the 3rd annual Gorge Grape Escape.
Attendees will spend an evening at the acclaimed Columbia Gorge Hotel sampling fine wines from Columbia Gorge vintners, dining on delectable appetizers, and bidding on an incredible array of silent and live auction items. From getaway trips to Gorge adventures, fine wine to fine art, and sporting gear to good times, there's something to appeal to everyone.
The Gorge Grape Escape is on Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. Tickets are $45, and available at Collage of the Gorge, Waucoma Bookstore, or on-line at www.the-gorge-grape-escape.com.
The Columbia Gorge Hotel is helping to make it a truly spectacular evening by offering a special pre-event dinner with a fixed price menu, with 25 percent of the ticket price going to the WSVEF.
For dinner reservations contact the hotel directly at (541) 386-5566. You must mention the Grape Escape to get this special price.
"The Gorge Grape Escape is extremely important to the Education Foundation, as it's our primary fundraiser," said event coordinator and WSVEF secretary Sue Davis. "We are extremely grateful to all the community businesses and members whose donations make this event possible. Now we're looking forward to having everybody come out, and have a great time!"
The organization funds programs that will enrich school curriculum and elective offerings; support staff development; and create education, business and community partnerships.
