Report for Washington State Patrol



A 48-year-old Wishram man was taken by Life Flight to a Portland hospital following his motorcycle accident on June 25, 2008. The accident occurred at approximately 4:05 p.m. on State Route 141 at milepost 5, three miles north of White Salmon.

According to the report, Thaddeus C. Bookmyer was riding his 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on SR 141. Bookmyer lost control of the motorcycle while negotiating a curve and collided with the guard rail. Bookmyer was ejected from the motorcycle coming to rest 75 feet off the roadway.

Bookmyer suffered a broken left leg.

A 25-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at 11:29 p.m. The accident occurred on SR 141 at milepost 20, two miles south of Trout Lake.

According to the report, Antonio Cornejo-Pena (address unknown) was driving a 1997 Dodge Caravan northbound on SR 141. The vehicle drifted off to the east side of the highway then back across the centerline, leaving the roadway to the left side. It struck a rock wall in the south bound lane.

Cornejo-Pena was dead at the scene.

The highway was blocked for over three hours.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
