Free workshops for financial aid

College offers help for parents

The Financial Aid Office at Columbia Gorge Community College is offering a combination of four free FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) workshops on The Dalles and Hood River campuses in the months of July and August 2008.

Anyone planning to take credit classes and desiring financial aid in 2008-09 should plan to file this application as soon as possible.

Two sessions will be held in The Dalles and Hood River in July and two sessions in August. The times and dates are: Hood River Center, July 16, 7-9 p.m. and Aug. 16, 9 a.m. to noon; The Dalles campus, July 19, 9 a.m. to noon and Aug. 12, 7 to 9 p.m.

The free FAFSA workshops are offered to help applicants understand how to file the application and follow the process of being awarded federal financial aid, such as free Pell grants and Stafford and Perkins school loans, as well as Federal Work-Study for college expenses.
