Summer fun for students

Parents can register kids now

Henkle Middle School's "Project Summer Fun" will offer students a fun way to keep their minds sharp in a structured, nurturing setting June 23-July 24.

Open to students entering the fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth grades, Project Summer Fun starts each day at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12 noon, Mondays through Thursdays.

Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. and lunch is served at noon.

In addition to the more relaxing and game-like activities to help students with reading, mathematics, science, and other school subjects, the program offers field trips such as bowling, the movies, swimming, and more.

Thanks to the support of a federal Twenty-first Century Community Learning Center grant, Project Summer Fun costs only $20 for the entire 20-day program.

Parents may register their children now by coming to Henkle Middle School or by calling the middle school at 493-1502.
