Well, the snow is melting and thoughts wander to what else is going on in Trout Lake.
Remember, Irish music and dinner with friends, Saturday night at the grange. Call some of your friends, plan a table for 6 or 8 -- you bring a main dish, assign friends to sides and dessert. Everybody pitches in $5 for the use of the grange hall. It really is fun. Call Cheryl Hysmith to sign up for a table, 395-2207.
Bill Smith is having a huge sale on winter sports gear. I got a beautiful pair of cross country poles.
Then I noticed a little shop next to Carissa's salon -- The Ribbon Basket. Melody Allaway is open from 9 to 4 on Saturdays with classes for scrap booking, card making and, this week, a window pane project. I called Melody at 395-2222 and she told me about a "Scrapbooking Getaway Weekend" -- March 2-4. It will be hosted by Jonah Ministries and The Ribbon Basket. For $80 you get 3 days, 2 nights, meals included - at Jonah Ministries. For more information visit www.campjonah.com or call 395-2900 (Jonah Ministries) or 395-2222 (Harmony Allaway). Harmony said that if 50 women attend, hosts will be giving away a Provo Craft Cricut Expressions Die Cutting Machine ($500 value).
Then thinking of spring, I thought to check Pat Arnold's for eggs -- the chickens are back in business!
Now is the time to get in shape for summer biking and hiking -- Yoga with Nina Fee at the school on Monday evenings at 5, a $5 donation suggested; or exercise at Cookie Gilpatrick's gym, call 395-2468.
Trout Lake Community Chorus will be starting again for its spring series. All skill levels are encouraged to join the chorus under the able direction of Doug and Janet Anderson. Call them for more information, 395-9307.
Coming up is the Trout Lake Community Easter Breakfast. More on that soon.
The Trout Lake Art Council spring fundraiser will be held this year at the Lamberts on April 19. Call Bonnie Reynolds (395-2527) if you'd like to help with that. There is the Trout Lake Bike Ride, June 28, call Cookie Gilpatrick (395-2468) if you'd like to help with that.
