Riverview Community Bank, White Salmon Marketplace by Thriftway and The Enterprise are partnering to make an impact on hunger in Klickitat County.
Riverview is also partnering with newspapers, grocery stores and cities in Stevenson, Goldendale and Aumsville.
The businesses are participating in the Fill-A-Bag Program. For the White Salmon area, it's the fourth year for the program.
"The need is as great as ever," said Riverview White Salmon Branch Manager Dale Connell. "The number of needy remains high."
To participate in the White Salmon Fill-A-Bag program, participants just need to fill up a bag with nonperishable grocery items, take the bag to the White Salmon Riverview Bank or the Marketplace by Thriftway store.
Cash donations need to be made through bank tellers.
Bags are inserted into this week's Enterprise, Nov. 27 edition. Additional bags are also available at The Enterprise, Riverview Community Bank and Marketplace by Thriftway.
Riverview offers a dollar to pound match for all food donated.
Food items needed include baby food/formula, canned meats, canned stew, canned tuna, canned vegetables, peanut butter, instant potatoes, macaroni, oatmeal, pancake mix, rice, soup and unsweetened cereal.
The program's emphasis is through Dec. 19, but donations will be accepted through Christmas and beyond.
