Columbia prevented Washougal from extending the match to four sets by rallying from a 22-17 deficit in the third.

"It was an exciting match and the girls were having fun," Bruins Coach Heidi Shultz noted. "Our transition defense is getting better and the girls are really hustling."

The Bruins got strong performances from Lacey Kruse (5 aces, 4 kills, 3 blocks), Carah Concienne (7 kills, 3 blocks, 2 digs), Maree Jo Kettenring (2 assists, 1 ace, 13/13 serves), Adrianne DeLay (4 assists, 3 digs, 1 ace), Andrea Helton (6 aces, 2 kills, 2 digs), Kellyn McCutcheon (4 aces, 3 digs), Rachel Connolly (1 ace, 1 kill) and Gaby Duniphin (2 kills, 1 block).
