Soroptimist International of Mt. Adams is hosting its fourth annual pre-holiday "shopping extravaganza" on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Best Western Hood River Inn Gorge Room.
The event will feature local and Portland area artisans exhibiting holiday gift items of jewelry, metal art, alpaca garments, pottery, glassware, paintings, cards, hula-hoops, and more. Massage therapy chair massages will also be available.
"We're excited to be back for another year and really appreciate the returning and new artisans. The beautiful items are just fantastic and made with such creativity and quality. This event has expanded every year, building upon the success and fun of previous years," said Ginger Swanson, an event coordinator. "These are all small businesses with unique products, many of them from White Salmon, where our club is located, Underwood, Hood River, and Portland. The artisans generously donate 10 percent of their sales to Soroptimist of Mt. Adams, and we're so appreciative of their support."
"It's not just a sale. With the festive atmosphere, it's a holiday event!" said Kathleen O'Connor-McNew, a Mt. Adams club member and sales manager at the Best Western Hood River Inn. "We hope that people will come from all over to support these small businesses and Soroptimist, and to have a great time doing it," she said.
