Report for Washington State Patrol



Three people were transported to Skyline Hospital in White Salmon, following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Dock Grade and State Route 14. The accident occurred on Sept. 4, 2008, at 3:55 p.m.

According to the report, a 1999 Chevrolet pickup driven by Karl C. Wood, 47, Lyle, was southbound on Dock Grade Road. A 2003 Honda CRV, driven by Sally A. Newell, 53, Underwood, was westbound on SR 14. Wood attempted to turn his vehicle left onto eastbound SR 14 and collided with Newell's vehicle in the westbound lane. Newell's vehicle overturned coming to rest on its wheels.

Wood had chest injuries. Newell had chest injuries and hand abrasions. Thomas Delaney, 16, Lyle, a passenger in Wood's vehicle, had abrasions to his right leg. All three were taken to Skyline Hospital.

Wood was cited for failure to yield.

The pickup sustained $6,000 damage. The Honda was totaled.
