Families enjoy concerts in park

Johnny Limbo and Lugnuts lead off

Let the music begin!

The 27th Embarq Families in the Park concert series is set to begin Thursday, Aug. 6, at Jackson Park in Hood River.

The Pacific Northwest premier rock and roll band Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts will entertain the Gorge with classic 50s and 60s music.

Don LaBarge will be the warm-up entertainer starting at 6:15 p.m.

Family dinner in the park will be a fajita feed provided by the Lions Eyeopeners Club from 6 to 7:45 p.m. There will also be numerous concession stands in the park.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and get there early to get the best spots.

The following week will be the blues of the Curtis Salgado Band on Aug. 13.

Aug. 20 will bring the number one rated Elvis impersonator Jason Shandor and he will be joined by Marvin Gaye.

The final week on Aug. 27 will be Grammy nominee Patrick Lamb and his band.

Each week will have a family-style dinner or BBQ starting at 6 p.m.
