A 61-year-old woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Aug. 3, 2009. The accident occurred at approximately 8:18 a.m. on State Route 97 at milepost 14.9, two miles north of Goldendale.
According to the report, Nancy E. Gehrkens-Reeder, 61, Soap Lake, was driving a 2006 Ford U-haul truck southbound on SR 97. The vehicle went off the southbound shoulder. The driver then overcorrected, traveling across both southbound and northbound lanes, running through a guardrail and down an embankment. The vehicle rolled and came to rest in a creek, facing north.
Gehrkens-Reeder suffered cuts and bruises and was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital.
She was charged with wheels off the roadway.
One person was hurt in a three-vehicle accident Monday, Aug. 3, 2008, at appproximately 12:06 p.m. The accident occurred on SR 14 at milepost 33, five miles west of North Bonneville.
According to the report, Richard W. Schoonover, 64, Portland, was driving his 1998 Mercedes eastbound on SR 14. Dunovan D. Dudley, 53, Carson, was driving his 2005 Honda motorcycle westbound. Roy S. Ostroski, 54, Cook, was stopped in his 2002 Chevy pickup at a stop sign at the intersection of Duncan Creek Road and SR 14.
Schoonover attempted to make a left turn onto Duncan Creek Road, failing to yield the right of way to Dudley. Dudley's motorcycle struck the left front of Schoonover's Mercedes in the westbound lane. The motorcycle then slid into the left front of the pickup.
Dudley suffered injury to his left leg. He was airlifted to Southwest Washington Medical Center by Life Flight.
Neither Schoonover nor Ostroski were injured.
The accident is still under investigation.
