Game Night is Dec. 4 from 7 to 10 -p.m. at the Lyle Activity Center (Old Lyle Elementary School). A chance for community members of all ages to hang out and have a good time. The fun will include a projector with video games going, board games, and a nerf gun war! Snacks will be available for purchase.

On Monday, Dec. 7, there will be a "Holiday Coffee House" at 7 p.m. after basketball practice, at the Lyle High School Cafeteria. Music will be by the high school chorus, the jazz band, some solos and maybe Mrs. Bales and the guitar guys from senior meals. Hopefully, Ellie and her crew and maybe "Mach 7," the high school rock band.

The Lion's Club will be serving the "1st Saturday of the Month Breakfast" on Dec. 5 from 7 to 10 a.m.

The 6th annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5. The Dallesport Community Council and Fire Department will host the event at the log building on Highway 197 (Columbia Hills RV Park), from 9 to 5 on Friday and 9 to 4 on Saturday.

The Lyle Hotel will be having an open house on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 3 to 6 p.m. Come meet the new owners Mary Ann and Steve. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon and complimentary appetizers.

The Twin Bridges Museum has been given a large research packet compiled by Doug Lyle. It follows the land grants, purchases and exchanges made in the Lyle area, by the Lyle family, from 1896 through the current times. This should be an interesting piece of history for those wishing to learn more about Lyle's founding father.

The Santa Fire Truck Caravan will arrive in town on Dec. 19 about 6:20 p.m. The council and the OLEES will be serving cocoa and treats that evening at the Lyle Activity Center. Santa will be there to chat with the kiddies, (young and old) but his time will be short due to his tight schedule that night.

Excerpts from Bingen Observer, May 13, 1910: "Lyle to have Church Building -- The meeting will be held in the Grange Hall and the ladies will serve a dinner in the evening."

"The Lyle Commercial Club will hold a regular meeting tomorrow night. The Club offers a prize of $25 for the best kept orchard in the vicinity this year. "

"Some White Salmon real estate men have been here investing in orchard lands contiguous to Lyle."
