Tax help for seniors, low-income

Appointments every Wednesday

The AARP Tax Aide Program offers free tax and E-filing preparation to seniors and low-income individuals until April 8.

The program will be available in both Goldendale and White Salmon.

In Goldendale, appointments are available now by calling the WSU Learning Center, 773-5620.

In White Salmon, appointments can be made every Wednesday (Feb. 11, 18 and 25, March 4, 11, 18 and 25, April 1 and 8) from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. To make an appointment call 493-3068.

Taxpayers seeking help should bring: last year's tax return; current year's tax forms and booklet; Social Security cards for all dependents; W-2 and 1099 forms; unemployment statements; SSA-1099; canceled checks showing quarterly estimated payments; 1098-home mortgage interest; receipts for medical expenses, contributions, property taxes, continuing education; and information on dependent care provider.
