The 13th Annual H.U.G.S. (Help Us Grow Safely) Children's Health and Safety Fair for youth will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Henkle Middle School in White Salmon on March 7.
This free event is open to all area youths and their families. It is sponsored by Henkle Middle School A.S.B. and Project Open Door, WSU-Klickitat County Extension and the Klickitat County Public Health Department.
Many educational booths, giveaways and demonstrations will focus on fun and healthy opportunities and activities in our area. There will be music, entertainment, special guests, traditional displays, new exhibits and much more. As always, local businesses have donated a wide variety of door prizes to give away.
"Once again we will have the popular 'passport' activity for children," said Susan Kerr, WSU-Klickitat County Extension Director. "Youth can earn a special prize if they get the squares on their passport stamped by participating exhibitors. Many exhibitors will have hands-on activities for youth, so the passport opportunity will reward youth for getting actively involved at the H.U.G.S. Fair."
Exhibitors should have received registration materials by now. If your agency has not received them and you would like to be an exhibitor at the H.U.G.S. Fair, please call 493-1502 or 773-5817 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The H.U.G.S. Fair planning committee is seeking new members as well as volunteers to help on the day of the fair. If you are interested, use the contact information mentioned above.
