The Bingen City Council is expected to interview candidates for an open spot on the council on Jan. 20, and perhaps make an appointment to fill the vacancy on the same evening.
The opening was created when council member Tim Hearn decided to resign from the City Council effective at the end of December. Hearn cited "personal reasons" in his decision to leave the council, where he had served for the past three years.
Hearn was elected to a four-year term in November 2005.
