Community Garden open for residents

Registration coming up soon

Common Grounds Community Gardens will again offer residents of White Salmon and Bingen their own individual plots of ground on which to grow vegetables.

This is the second year of operation.

Last year, volunteers played an integral role in the creation and management of the gardens, which are sponsored by Washington Gorge Action Programs.,

Over 1,000 pounds of vegetables were donated to the Food Bank.

This year, church groups or service clubs also might be interested in growing vegetables for donation.

The garden sites are fenced and the ground tilled. Basic tools and a lockable shed are provided at each site.

A nominal fee will be charged to cover expenses.

Registration will be held on March 21 and 24 and plots will become available April 1.
