Neola Putnam has signed a letter of intent with Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Miss Putnam will receive a scholarship in exchange for her commitment to compete on the Cedarville University cross country and track teams.
Neola is competing in her final year of what has been a stellar high school track and cross country career. As a freshman she placed second in both the 800- and 1600-meter races at the 1B state level. During her sophomore year she earned state championship titles in both the 800- and 1600-meter races as well as second in the 4X400 relay race. In Neola's junior year, she won the 800-meter and 4X400 relay races and had a second place finish in the 1600-meter race at the 1B state contests. She also won the B cross country state title in her junior year.
Neola will graduate as valedictorian from Glenwood High School in June and plans to study either math or engineering at Cedarville University. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments, Neola!

A group of women from Glenwood traveled to Portland on March 22 to watch the play "Wicked." A nationwide Broadway troupe is performing the play in Portland for a month. The performances feature magnificent sets and costumes for the "rest of the story" version of the Wizard of Oz. Everyone seemed to enjoy the program and trip to the big city.
