Rawding graduates basics
Army Pfc. Brett Rawding has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
He is the son of Shelly and Dan Rawding of White Salmon, Wash.
Two on SPU dean's list
The following students, Andrew Dick and Stephanie Rubesh, both of Trout Lake, made the Seattle Pacific University 2009 winter quarter dean's List.
Students on the dean's list have completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.50 or higher grade point average.
Miller finishes business competition
Dustin Miller, a graduate of Columbia High School (2000), competed in the 2009 University of Washington Business Plan Competition. His company, Nanocel, received the Herbert B. Jones Foundation Grand Prize.
