Trail Band plays Christmas concert

Concert in Hood river on Dec. 3

Tickets for an event that's become one of Hood River's most treasured holiday traditions are now available.

The hugely popular Trail Band brings its "Holidays with the Trail Band" concert to the Hood River Middle School Auditorium (1602 May Street), Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.

The Hood River concert is a benefit for the Hood River County Education Foundation, and the Foundation's Board of Directors has made the decision to continue to keep ticket costs exceptionally low in order to allow as many area residents and families as possible to attend this special evening.

Hood River concert prices are $15 for adults, $6 for children 14 years and younger -- the same admission prices as in 2000.

The 8-piece all-star Trail Band ensemble was created in 1991 by Marv and Rindy Ross of the nationally-known 1980s band Quarterflash. Formed to play period music in celebration of the Oregon Trail's Susquicentennial, the band's performances were so well received that they have continued to enthrall and entertain audiences with original and traditional arrangements in a wide range of musical styles.

The band has produced 10 albums, five of which have Christmas themes. Legendary blues/gospel singer Linda Hornbuckle will join the Trail Band as a special guest at the Hood River concert.

Tickets for the concert are available now at locations around the Columbia Gorge, and by mail. Purchase them at Klindt's Bookstore in The Dalles, Waucoma Bookstore, Cascade Central Credit Union, and the Hood River County School District Community Education office in Hood River, Collage of the Gorge in White Salmon, and at Cascade Locks School in Cascade Locks.

Doors to the 7 p.m. concert open about 6:00 p.m. Concessions will be available. The show lasts approximately two hours.

Additional concert information may be had by calling (541) 386-3222.
