Bingen inks deal to design skate park

Vote was unanimous

Give Bingen credit for perseverance: Despite a difficult economic climate, the city has not given up on its plans to build a skate park in Daubenspeck Park.

At the city's most recent council meeting, Bingen City Council members voted unanimously to approve an $18,500 contract to design a skate park. The contract is with Grindline Skateparks, Inc., a company based in Seattle.

Grindline specializes in concrete skate park design and construction.

The contract will pay for creating a conceptual design of a "phasable skate park of 5,000-10,000 square feet that provides an experience for all levels of skaters," as well as providing technical specifications and the necessary construction documents.
