Spooks haunt carnival Saturday

Halloween is in the air. On Oct. 24 the PTO is putting on its annual Halloween Carnival at the Glenwood School. The cost is $15 per family or $5 a person. Come and enjoy the Haunted House, games, prizes and good food.

The class of 2010 is raffling off a basket of Halloween goodies. So get a hold of a senior and buy some tickets. It will be given away at the carnival.

The First Pumpkin Carving Contest at the General Store will be held on Oct. 30. Bring in your carved pumpkins between 5:30 and 6:00. Complimentary clam chowder and hot chocolate will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 or until it runs out. First prize is $50, second prize $25. Other prizes will also be awarded. Prizes will be given out at 7. Come and have a Ghoulish Time.

Riley Jean Rickman has arrived! Shayne and Jonathan Rickman have their little girl in their arms. Riley Jean was born Oct. 17 at the Providence Hospital in Hood River in the wee hours of the morning. She weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces and is 19 inches long. Her proud grandparents are: Ed and Terry Arnold of Glenwood and Claude and Chris Rickman of Powell Butte, Ore. Great-grandparents are Donna Hardy of Condon, Tom and Jane Arnold of Husum, Sam Chandler and Carol Bill of Prineville, Ore. Great, great-grandma is Ruth Hukari of Mosier. Congratulations to all of you.
