Report for Washington State Patrol and Oregon State Police



A White Salmon man suffered injuries in a one vehicle accident on State Route 14 at milepost 64.5, a half mile west of White Salmon. The accident occurred on Sept. 10, 2009, at approximately 9:50 p.m.

According to the report, Jeffrey L. Skinner, 54, White Salmon, was driving his 2002 Honda CRV westbound on SR 14. The vehicle left the roadway to the north, struck the rock wall, overturned, and came to rest on its top.

Skinner suffered lacerations to his hands and was transported to Skyline Hospital.

He was charged with DUI.

Two people were injured in a one vehicle accident on SR 14 at milepost 26, eight miles east of Washougal. The accident occurred on Sept. 12, 2009, at approximately 7:05 p.m.

According to the report, Dennis R. Sands, 54, La Center, was driving his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on SR 14. The motorcycle collided with a deer in the roadway. The driver and the motorcycle came to rest 160 feet west of the impact point. Sands passenger, 45-year-old Anna M. Gonzales of Tillamook, Ore., was ejected off the motorcycle.

Sands was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver with abraisions and possible fractures. Gonzales was also taken to SWWMC with abrasions.

The two were assisted at the scene by an off-duty Portland firefighter until the arrival of emergency services.

A Washougal man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Sept. 11, 2009, at approximately 10:20 p.m. The accident occurred on SR 14 at milepost 22, one mile east of the Clark County line.

According to the report, Thomas B. Flynn, 66, Washougal, was driving his 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on SR 14. Flynn failed to negotiate a curve to the right and slid the cycle on its right side, coming to rest on the eastbound shoulder.

Flynn suffered multiple abrasions and a neck injury. He was transport to SWWMC.



On Sept. 10, 2009, at approximately 9:20 p.m. there was a fatal shooting at the Vagabond Lodge in Hood River. The shooting which took the life of the motel proprietor, 54-year-old Jerry Cranmer, is being investigated as a homicide/robbery.

The Hood River County Sheriff's Office is working in conjunction with the Hood River City Police, Oregon State Police, as well as the Oregon State Crime Lab, which is processing the scene.

The final processing revealed $300 missing from the back up till.
