School board looks at H1N1

Workshop to precede meeting

A public workshop from 6-7 p.m. on Sept. 23 will precede the White Salmon Valley School Board's regular business meeting in the Columbia High School library.

The workshop has been scheduled to follow up on matters discussed at last month's public forum. The directors' meeting will convene at 7 p.m. for a 15-minute "New Teacher Meet and Greet."

Agenda items for the Wednesday meeting include reports by Interim Supt. Jerry Lewis on enrollment, the H1N1 virus (aka swine flu) and a proposed policy titled "Students' Sports" and covering concussion and head injury.

In addition, board members are expected to act on resignations, new hires and property easements.

The regular meeting will be followed by an executive session to discuss real estate and personnel matters.
