Bruins net second Trico win, move into fourth place

Taryn Struck, Laurel Huth and Aleigha Rude combined for 45 points and 30 rebounds, and Columbia High’s girls varsity squared its SWW 1A Trico Division record at 2-2 with a 50-45 basketball victory over Stevenson last Thursday in Miller Gym.

Struck scored a career-high 17 points to go with 11 rebounds and six assists; Huth had 15 points, including nine on 3-pointers; and Rude finished with 13 points and a career-best 16 rebounds.

The win moved the Bruins (6-7 overall) into fourth place in the six-team Trico standings, with six league games still to go.

“We pulled out another one,” Bruins Coach Kinzer Hough said, noting, “It was a much-needed win.”
