Chalk art contest

Columbia Center for the Arts, in partnership with Providence Hospital, presents a Chalk Art Contest on First Friday, July 2.

This is a free event for children and adults.

Come to Columbia Center for the Arts at 215 Cascade Avenue to register from noon to 1 p.m., create your sidewalk chalk masterpiece on a concrete square outside of the art center from 1 to 4 p.m.

Judging will occur at 4:30 p.m. and winners will be announced at 5:30 in the lobby at Columbia Center for the Arts.

Categories include: adult, teen (13-17), adult/child team, child (3-5) (6-9) (10-12).

Bring your own chalk or purchase pastels for $3 at registration. Artist pastels work better than traditional sidewalk chalk.
