Outstanding students get lunch treat

Pupils who were named "Students of the Month" during the first half of the school year were treated to lunch at the Shade Tree Inn on March 23. Those students include Max Jacobson, Brittany McCoy, Rebecca Hallenbeck, Katherine Settler, Olivia Jacobson, Louden Fiander, Kenny Henderson, Sheyu Yan, Andrew McFall, Andrew Dechand, Whitney Feller, Amy Keithly, Bella Couch, Kinley Troh, Reyauna Guzman, Julia LaVallie, Nahaleigh Schuster, Colton Troh, Greg Dechand and Brian Langfield. Congratulations to each of these youngsters for their recognition as outstanding students. The March Students of the Month will be named in an assembly on March 25.

The third term of the school year will come to an end on March 25 -- just in time for the students to enjoy a week's rest during spring break. We will reveal the latest honor roll students next week!

Mt. Adams Community 4-H Club leaders and members would like to thank the community for the generous support of their fruit sales fundraiser.

Glenwood volunteers from Fire District 8 enjoyed another great turnout for their annual turkey dinner last Saturday. They appreciate the support not only from community members, but also from out-of-town guests.

The Pioneer Memorial Community Church has a few extra-special events scheduled for the coming week: Ladies of the community are invited to Sweet Thursday on April 1. The Good Friday service is at 7 p.m. on April 2. Easter Sunrise Service is at 6:30 followed by Easter brunch at the church on April 4. Mark your calendars for another great Charlie Walker performance at the Pioneer Memorial Community Church on April 10. Mr. Walker hails from Prineville, Ore., and puts on a very enjoyable country/gospel concert. The community is invited to attend this musical event.
