Talk on Sept. 14

Mosier columnist and writer, Mary Soden, will be reading and signing her new book, "Original Moons: Those Who Pull The Earth," on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. in the White Salmon Valley Community Library's Spring/Baker Gallery.

Original Moons, based on a series of interviews from 1984 to 2007, follows the lives, accomplishments and challenges of four women trying to find their way in a culture in which the role of women was rapidly changing.

The collection documents the process of the search for self. Soden hopes that by reading the book others will be encouraged to put pen to paper and document their own ever-changing story, and continue to ask themselves the important ongoing question: "Who can I be now?"

Soden has done a reading of her book at the Press Club in Portland and will be reading at Word Stock in Portland on Sunday, Oct. 10, from 1-2 p.m.
