The Farmers' Market in downtown White Salmon continues to be a place where people reconnect with friends, eat delicious pizza and hot dogs, and listen to really fine live music.
Every Wednesday through September from 4 to 7 p.m. the market buzzes with activity while vendors offer very fresh produce, bread and other delicious edibles.
"This is a new center for creating a sense of community for our town," said organizer Craig Wilson.
He added, the cherries were delicious and are about gone. Now the blueberries are beginning to appear.
"You can see the changing scenes of the summer season each week at the market. And you can bring the extra food from your own garden or trees and sell it at the Community Table," he said.
The White Salmon market is now one of 11 farmers markets operating in the Columbia River Gorge. You can pick up a punch card at the White Salmon market that lists all the markets. If you visit all the Gorge markets this summer and have the card punched at each one, you will be entered for a fabulous drawing. Prizes include local food, rafting trips, wine, massages, and more.
