Rock, boogie at final concert

In chamber series

The Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce Summer Concert Series 2011 will drop the curtain on its musical series with a rocking Sugar Daddies performance this Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Bingen's Daubenspeck Park.

The featured Sugar Daddies band plays a variety of American dance music, including rock 'n roll, boogie-woogie, swing, and blues. It has performed for audiences throughout the Northwest, and in many local venues around the Gorge and Portland.

The Sugar Daddies feature Mark Womble on keyboards and vocals, Dennis Williams on saxophone and clarinet, Jeff Minnick on drums, and Danny Miller on guitar, all formerly of Second Balcony Jump.

The band has released a CD of original songs and is currently recording its second CD.

Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic dinner to Bingen's Daubenspeck Park to celebrate the end of summer.

Contact Bill Werst at 493-1985 if you have, or know of anyone who has, a 40s, 50s, or 60s car. During the concert, old cars will get to park in the park -- almost like going to the drive in, except with live music.

An added extra: bring your cameras because Elvis will be in the house.
