On June 25, 2011, 49-year-old Thomas Ray Bowen of Murdock disappeared under suspicious circumstances. An extensive investigation has been underway since that time in an attempt to located Bowen and learn more about his disappearance.
In addition, ground and air searches were conducted in the Dallesport/Murdock area during the summer of 2011.
On Dec. 12, Klickitat PUD employees discovered Bowen's remains at a remote location on the Columbia Hills north of Dallesport.
Klickitat County Sheriff's Office detectives investigated the scene with the assistance of forensic scientists from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.
An autopsy has been requested through the Clark County Medical Examiner's Office to help determine the cause and manner of death.
KCSO detectives will continue with this investigation.
A California man was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Dec. 14, 2011, at approximately 11:18 a.m. The accident occurred on State Route 14 at milepost 130, two miles west of Roosevelt.
According to the report, Rajendra Gir, 42, N. Highlands, Calif., was driving his 2007 International tractor with 2007 utility trailer westbound on SR 14 from Roosevelt when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The vehicle continued straight ahread, side swiping 250 feet of guardrail. The vehicle then went over the guardrail and down a 40-foot embankment. The trailer rolled.
Gir suffered three fractured vertebrae and was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale.
He was charged with negligent driving.
