Gorge Ecumenical Ministries (GEM) will host its annual celebration on Jan. 9 at 5 p.m.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Hood River Valley Christian Church, 975 Indian Creek Road in Hood River.
The keynote speaker will be David Leslie, executive director of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. He will explore the topic: "Working in an Inter-religious World: Models and Challenges."
GEM will present the "Inspired Service and Action Award" to Linda Short in celebration of her many years of service to the community. Short has positively impacted the lives of many people in the Gorge and beyond with her leadership in the Columbia River Fellowship for Peace and her many contributions to peace, justice and service activities throughout the area.
GEM, which supports and oversees the operation of FISH, will also honor volunteers who have served at the food bank in the past year.
GEM is an interfaith association of churches and other communities of faith that work to build a just and compassionate world through advocacy, education and service in the Columbia Gorge.
