The spring book group at the White Salmon Valley Community library continues with the third and final title in the discussion series The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson.
Copies of the book are now available for participants to pick up at the library's front desk.
The book will be discussed on Thursday, March 31, at 3:30 p.m. in the library's Sprint/Baker Gallery.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first in a three-book series written by Swedish author, Stieg Larsson (1954-2004), and published posthumously.
This international best-seller's cover describes the book as follows: [the story] "...combines murder mystery, family sage, love story, and financial intrigue into a complex and atmospheric novel. Harriet Vanger, a scion of one of Sweden's wealthiest families disappeared over 40 years ago. All these years later, her aged uncle continues to seek the truth. He hires Mikael Blomkvist, a crusading journalist recently trapped by a libel conviction, to investigate. He is aided by the pierced and tattooed punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander. Together they tap into a vein of iniquity and corruption."
USA Today describes the book as "mesmerizing...Imagine the movies of Ingmar Bergman crossed with Thomas Harris's novel The Silence of the Lambs."
The book discussion program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
