The Klickitat County Sheriff's Office will be participating in the National Pharmaceutical Drug Take Back Day sponsored by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 30.

KCSO will host two collection sites for citizens to return their unused or expired medications for safe disposal.

Persons who need to dispose of medications can take them to one of the following sites between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The sites are:

Klickitat County Sheriff's Office Jail Lobby, 205 S. Columbus Ave., Goldendale

Dallesport Community Center, 136 Sixth Ave., Dallesport.

The collection sites are also listed on the DEA website. Visit the site to find locations at, and then click on the "Got Drugs?" icon.

KCSO asks that those wishing to turn in medications to limit them to dry products (i.e. pills, capsules). The DEA will not accept liquid forms of medication for destruction.
