After a rainy and wet Thanksgiving weekend many of our thoughts turn toward to the holiday season. What better way to cross those names off your list than to shop locally and with a good purpose to boot.
All this week, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, Trout Lake School will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair. The hours are: 7:45 to 9 a.m., 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The fair will also be open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the perfect chance to spread the joy of reading, get some Christmas shopping done and benefit the Trout Lake School!
While you're at the school on Dec. 3 also be sure and check out the Trout Lake School Holiday Market. This annual event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school's multi-purpose room. Yummy chicken pot pies, wraps, salads and desserts will be served from 11:30 to 4. There will be lots of local art and food vendors with a wide range of goodies that would be just perfect for gifts. To decorate your home this holiday season fresh wreaths will be available as well. There are some great craft projects for the kids planned and fun door prizes, too! Proceeds from the event help support the National Honor Society's trip to San Francisco this spring.
With such a busy weekend in store in Trout Lake there is no reason not to brave the weather and support your community at the same time! Sofie Brubaker - Trout Lake Newswriters
