A White Salmon man was injured following a one-vehicle accident on State Route 141 at milepost 9, nine miles north of White Salmon. The accident occurred on Oct. 10, 2011, at approximately 6:42 p.m.
According to the report, Matthew H. Miller, 29, was driving his 2003 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on SR 141 when he lost control of the vehicle. Miller overcorrected and crossed into the northbound lane. The vehicle left the roadway to the southeast, crossed a private road and traveled into some trees on private property, where it came to rest.
Miller suffered lacerations to his right left and rib injury. He was transported to Skyline Hospital.
Miller was charged with DUI.
After several extensive searches of the area where a missing South Lake Tahoe, Calif., woman, Marie Hanson, was last seen during the Rainbow Gathering in early July of this year, searchers located skeletal remains and jewelry on Oct. 9.
Search efforts and scene processing continued on Monday to locate any additional evidentiary items.
"We will continue with this investigation to attempt to positively identify any remains that we locate throughout this process," said Undersheriff Dave Cox. "We are hopeful but not jumping to any conclusions at this point. Marie's family has been notified of this development and are requesting that we all respect their privacy during this time."
