Planes to fly into air museum

200 to be on hand

The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum will hold a Hood River Fly-In on Sept. 10 and 11 at the museum.

WAAAM expects the event to attract 200 visiting airplanes. Daytime activities include biplane and helicopter rides all weekend by Classic Wings Aero Services at the Hood River Airport.

Pancake breakfast provided by Hood River Eyeopeners Lions Club from 7 to 10 a.m. WAAAM will provide lunch and ice cream from 11 a.m.

Saturday night dinner, hosted by West Side Fire Department in Hood River, and a silent auction will be held at the museum. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased at WAAAM.

Admission cost to the fly-in is $10 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 18. Admission includes access to the museum's collection of 75 fully restored and flyable vintage aircraft, 110 classic vehicles and 20 motorcycles from the golden age of transportation.
